Among Athena’s numerous abilities as a coach and mentor, two words that I feel best describe her in this realm would be “highest standards”. I came to Athena five weeks out for her opinion on my conditioning and right away she made it clear that I was behind and that I needed considerable improvement. It was at this point where I made the greatest improvements in my conditioning and contest preparation by strictly adhering to a roadmap that Athena set out for me. Truly, and as cliché as it may sound, I would not have been in the best condition of my life and would not have earned the 2009 BC Overall Championship title if it were not for Athena and her invaluable advice.
